incorruptable

Recently I was sitting and preparing to journal with Jesus… I asked, “What do you want to say to me today?” – I waited – and listened. I saw a picture of His hand outstretched holding hundreds of sparkling diamonds… then I heard Him speak to my spirit something that all His children could be encouraged by! This is what He said to me:

“Since the beginning of time you were my princess. All your days are numbered in My hand like little diamonds – each day special – each day sparkling. Each one to give away for my glory. You are not your own, you were bought with a price. Give yourself away each day knowing you are sowing Kingdom jewels into each person’s life you come in contact with. These attributes and elements you deposit will not fade out and die. They are incorruptible – from Heaven’s treasury.”

Matthew 6:19-20 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

I Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Diamonds “sparkle” by reflecting light. May we bask in THE light – reflecting, sparkling and sowing from Heaven’s treasury!

The Birthing Moment

The Birthing Moment

A mother getting ready to push is not surrounded by the noise of this world, but rather an  atmosphere that contains a few trusted allies – she is tucked away – focused on the life about to come forth. No one in the room is distracted.

That thing that has been promised to you, the thing that you were created to do has been growing. You are prepared. You have waited. It is ready to come forth. Don’t be surprised or disheartened by the place of quiet rest that you find yourself in. Press into that place – be scandalously encouraged that you have been drawn out away from the crowd for such a time as this. You are about to birth the dream of the season you are in. You will have your trusted few – your intimate allies by your side – those that can handle the birth. The Holy Spirit is hovering - nurturing and guiding you in the secret place. You are now at the moment that matters most. Push.

  • “And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness–secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.” Isaiah 45:3
  • “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17

Stay. Press. Push…

The School of Rest

Education ConceptWhen asked, “tell me your story… your testimony…” I usually chuckle and say WHICH one?! The one where I was lost, but then found by Jesus!? Or the one where I was betrayed by someone who I loved, but then was cared for by my King?! Or the one where they thought I had M.S., but then I didn’t ….oh, or the one where I just got a job and then broke my ankle, but then…..(well this story is still in process)???….. aaahhh funny stuff! You know what I’m talking about, what “testimony” are you currently going through? We have miles of testimonies and certainly there will be more to follow. Chapters of cliff-hanging adventures with God’s power on display for all to see; excerpts where we’ve deceived ourselves and chose to do the wrong thing, but God in His loving mercy saved the day; paths through the dark shadowy forests of defeat, deception and painful betrayal that lead us to the healing cross, broken and bruised; tales of worldwide mountaintop experiences where God showed up and displayed His glory just like He did with Mary or Moses.

But what about the quiet times…? The quiet seasons of life where despite all our efforts to move, create, expand, promote and even run – nothing seems to be “working.” Could it possibly be that He is at work in those wilderness places? Could He be preparing us for something down the line just by us being still? Could He be working on our behalf while we are resting and abiding in Him? Is it right for us to have seasons of stillness and what we think of as being hidden?

I’m here to tell all of you who are like me – the ones who love to race around and be warriors for Christ – YES, He is in the REST. Embrace it. Why? Because He is preparing us for the next season – the next level. We must trust Him, we must trust the process – our destiny depends on it. We must hear His voice, we must be still. (1 Kings 19:11-13, Psalm 46:10) The rest is training. It is training us to rely on Him for our peace. To rely on Him for our provision, to rely on Him for our emotional needs. He WILL strip away everything that we lean on that is not of Him to grow us and prepare us. It is an honor to be trained in rest and abide in Him. I don’t want to miss out on what He is doing and I will submit.

Abide: to wait for, to endure without yielding, to bear patiently, to accept without objection, to remain stable or fixed in a state

Rest: peace of mind or spirit, free of anxieties

I have been in such a season for close to three years. I have gone to the Lord, I journal and I hear His voice. He says, “rest my child.” He says, “heal my child.” He says,”just be with me and don’t worry about what the world thinks you should be doing. I am showing you new things and new ways.” Maybe He is saying similar things to you? Then I would say to you, be free to do what God has set in your heart and be encouraged because He is up to something! We will rest knowing that we are in training and He will be glorified through it.

So here is our prayer: Father thank you for the school of rest – for this season where I seem hidden – because I know that you are cultivating my character as I trust that you are up to something good. I will watch you show up and show off in my life. I praise you for this time where I will experience you on a more intimate level and will not worry about what everyone else is doing. Father, cause me to be true to your instructions. I look forward to hearing your voice of wisdom, hope, encouragement and direction. I embrace the secret place where you reveal your heart to me. Amen. :)

Kelly

Next blog in the cooker: The 3 Lies During Rest… How to spot them and overcome

The Remnant

An open letter to the church. My beloved friends, the time has come when we cannot operate under the shingle, “business as usual.” I know it’s hard in the new season because it is so unfamiliar. Our childhood memories of the American flag, sweet tea and an underlying respect and honor for what our founding fathers penned “One Nation Under God” is disappearing fast into time’s rear view mirror. There is a distinct line in the sand that has been drawn through our land. It is time to put away self-deception and ignorance.

I wish that things would just get back to normal. Normal is a lie. Life is organic. We must learn to be so in tune with the still small voice of the Lord that we adjust as needed. There will always be new strategies, new weapons, and new elements in which we are to navigate this Kingdom-story and the critical role we are all assigned. Bend, flow, listen, go and be flexible.

We are called the remnant and should be reminded that the way is narrow according to Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

So, with that said dear friends, I am calling forth the remnant to rise up! You will not be in the majority – that’s ok. You will be cornered and mocked – that’s ok – shake it off. We forge ahead gleaning the fields because our God is Lord of the Harvest! There are many precious new souls ready to be embraced by the Father’s love. So, our work is a privilege and people are watching. Be strong and courageous because someone’s life depends on it.

This is our wake up call to come out of our slumber. To know God’s Word and live it out loud. It is a mysterious adventure! We can walk with confidence knowing that we are on the winning team! It is an honor to stand for Truth. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “ All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Be love, be light and transform your atmosphere.

Prayer:  I pray we lace up our Gospel shoes of peace and be armed with the Word of God, pulling down every stronghold that rises up against it. I pray that miracles would surround us as we go in faith. I am thankful that the very same power that raised Jesus Christ from the grave lives inside of us! I pray that we would overflow with the love of Jesus Christ and His Truth – allowing us to be a force that sends waves of His presence wherever we go today. Amen. :)

Women Leader's Retreat

This past January I went on an exciting and life changing trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand! I wanted to encourage and show God’s love to the women in the area. Some were prostitutes, some were former prostitutes and others were local women leaders who daily pour out their time and energy into the ladies – and the children there. These are women God is so proud of! Women who are doing the work of God, one person at a time, one hug at a time – without fame or a big ministry title. Just daily sowing and loving for the sheer joy of Kingdom work! Beautiful. Simple. One life at a time.

While preparing to speak at the women leader’s conference, God spoke to my spirit and revealed something so deep – and yet seemingly so simple about what I was to speak on. My topic was on the importance of rest. I would deliver my message and then I was going to love on the women by making some of my Royally Relaxing Body Scrub and then have them massage it into each other’s hands for a relaxing ending to our session for the afternoon. “But God….” – yes, don’t you just love those “but God” moments!! He revealed the symbolism of each ingredient (salt, oil, aroma) in my body scrub as it corresponds to specific details and attributes of what happens when we spend time in His presence. So over the next few weeks and possibly months – with God’s help – I would love to share with you about what I’ve been learning! It seems to be a rabbit hole of sorts as I keep learning as He keeps revealing further facets of His love for us! In fact, did you know there is a “Salt Covenant” in the Bible…?? It’s very interesting! I would appreciate your prayers on this journey. I believe there is a reason God is wanting me to share this with you – I believe God’s heart for us as a Father is one who wants to nurture us and protect us as we abide in His presence. We simply can’t do anything supernatural or extraordinary without Him. I am desperate for Him and refuse to settle for a life that is anything less than one based on being swept away in His arms as He reveals His plans and purposes for my life! I need His peace and direction. His healing and comfort. His sweet aroma in my life that only comes from time spent in His presence. I hope you will journey with me….

In His Love,
Kelly xoxo

Testing, trials….and victory

You cannot give what you haven’t received.  Meaning… you have to be poured into by God before you can pour out to others … pouring out love, encouragement, wisdom, etc.  One of my favorite teachers/preachers says, “Many of us want the crown without bearing the cross.” We have to go through life’s “fires” – life’s trials – and then we come out with a crown of honor from God.

We all want to be operating in our gifts of healing, exhortation, teaching, prophecy, mercy, hospitality and so on – but these gifts will be shaken and tested in two ways.  You can count on it! By God, who comes to refine, purify and build strength and by your enemy Satan who comes to destroy the seed of greatness in us. Satan does not want you operating in your gifts. The Bible calls him a “thief” and “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10) The good news is God comes to give LIFE!! …and guess what, He wins!! But we have to have spiritual eyes to see what our enemy’s plans are and then stand firm on what God says about us and His plans for our future. He says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

DON’T GIVE UP! God’s Word is true and there is light at the end of the tunnel. This life – an uncommon life is filled w/ courage. Life is hard, but we live in a supernatural realm protected and encased by God’s hand.  God will USE these times to refine and purify us into GOLD – and get all the glory for Him! Just like Daniel and the lion’s den, like the Israelites  passing through the waters, like David and Goliath. And the best example: Jesus dying on the cross … What seemed to be death and the end – was a complete VICTORY for all creation once and for all!

So get up again. Believe God for the impossible …again. Shake the dust off your shoes and regroup. Believe: “I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” (Psalm 27:13) You were created to love others and glorify God. You were created to bring heaven to earth and celebrate each day with all humanity and heaven knowing that the God of Moses, Noah, Paul and Mary has got our backs and our future – every time!

Now go out and get the day walking in the power of the most high God! “….and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength, he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms…” (Ephesians 1:19-20)

Talkin’ Trash?

Can we back up everything we say? Do we really believe everything we say about God? A couple of years ago I was standing in line next to these two “ladies” that were….let’s just say…not from around here. They were talking some serious “trash” about various life issues – the Italian mafia, the cops, “G’s”, – LOTS of “G’s” – how they could do this and that, and they weren’t afraid of anything…or anybody!  BIG attitude!

It was pretty ironic coming from these 2 petite women – although I knew these women could probably pound me! (ha) I did not want to find out! I wondered if it were all true. Did they really know someone in the Italian mafia….?? That’s kinda cool……..ok, maybe not!!! They seemed pretty confident – could they back it up? I had a feeling they could not.

I began to wonder about Christians who talk trash. We sit around and say things like, “God is good!”, We have an awesome God!”, He works all things for the good!” – but do we REALLY believe it or are we just talkin’ BIG? Can we back it up by our experiences and our daily life? I know God can uphold his end of the bargain, but do we uphold our end…by believing. Do we really believe that He is awesome (Psalm 6:35), that He is my peace (John 14:27), that He heals (Isaiah 61:1, Matthew 10:8), that He DOES work all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28)?

God help us in our unbelief – no more talkin’ trash. Pour into us your love and power. Open our eyes to see your awesome hand all around us. Cause us to be genuine, MIGHTY women AND men of FAITH!

Almost always when I get overwhelmed it’s because I’m not putting “first things first”. Make sure you get God’s Word in you every day…even just reading through a little daily devotional for just 5 minutes in the morning. It is critical to renew our minds with God’s Word. Do you have defeating and negative thoughts….or do you have empowering, grace-filled, encouraging thoughts? There are 3 main places our thoughts come from: God, the devil/the enemy and our own minds.

God sounds like this: John 10:10 says that God came to give you LIFE and that you may have it abundantly!” God sounds like: you can do it! I have given you everything you need! You are my chosen child and I have an amazing plan for you and your family and I love you unconditionally!

The enemy sounds like this: He is in opposition to all things of God – he is the enemy of God, and therefore thinks of you as an enemy to be destroyed. Remember that devil is the “father of lies” – there is no Truth in him, “He comes only to kill, steal and destroy.” (John 10:10)  You will never amount to anything, you should just die and end it now, everyone hates you, God isn’t real, you are a bad mom or dad, you’ve tried that before and it doesn’t work, you’re running out of money, there is never enough, you’re body is so ugly and so on….blah, blah, blah…

Our Minds have 2 parts:

1.) Old man/flesh man (before we knew God) which is our own fallen thinking… It sounds and acts like:  I want more, I need more, I can’t ever have enough, what I have isn’t right for me… I’m not good enough, life isn’t fair, corruption and disobedience.

2.) New man/spirit man (after we come to God)   It has to be RENEWED by God’s word. We must have God’s “filter” over our minds to keep us on track and out of the ditch. ;) Romans 12:2 “…be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” It sounds like this: I am enough in God’s eyes, I am more than a conqueror, I have just what I need, I’m content, I’m at peace, I have joy, I love others and forgive them because God forgives me. I want to be obedient to what God is saying to me.

Resist the enemy…he is a LIAR!! Renew your mind with God’s word! You are an awesome, valuable and a capable child of the King….take one day at a time and lean on the Lord (not yourself) and he will make your path straight! (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Now go take on the day!!! :) ~Kelly

So, my friend Stephanie (who also co-pastors our church with her husband) says that I am a “verbal processor” ….hhmmmm? Aren’t ALL women verbal processors I asked?…She said no. I laughed and have been pondering it ever since. I’ve decided to start a blog that can be a virtual “mind-dump” for all these words in my head! :) I hope to be of some encouragement as I share the things that God is teaching me.

I chose the name “Intimate Allies” from one of my favorite books by John Eldredge called “Waking the Dead”. The theme of the book is that there is a battle for our hearts and God wants to have our hearts become fully alive – free. We are in desperate need of intimacy – not crowds. We need real conversations about where we are “at” in this walk of life.  This will be a place where I want to bring hope, encouragement, truth and humor to the deep places of our hearts. Where you have an ally in the journey…a place to pop into and take away something that will bring you freedom and understanding.  If you have something you are struggling with…send me an e-mail or comment and let’s jump on it! This is my heart’s desire – with the Lord’s help….we will walk it out together.

With His Love,

Kelly
